CNC Routing
4-Axis

Davidson Plyforms employs the use of a number of 4-axis machining centers co-developed by Davidson Plyforms personnel to machine one-piece seat/back shells with maximum efficiency. Routing, drilling and cutting, performed with digital (computer) accuracy, can all be accomplished without removing the component from the machine between operations, thus providing a high level of part-to-part consistency.

5-Axis

Davidson Plyforms operates two 5-axis machining centers to machine a variety of exposed, upholstered and shell components. The component is held on a fixture while a number of operations are performed. Routing, drilling and cutting can all be accomplished without removing the component from the machine until completion of the part. The 5-axis machining centers can perform operations requiring a higher degree of complexity than the 4-axis machines. The use of the fifth axis allows routs, cuts and holes to be machined at compound angles that the 4-axis machines can not achieve.
